Tennis player Radu Albot beaten in Turkey
The best Moldovan tennis player Radu Albot lost both of the final matches in the Futures tournament held in Turkey, even if he was regarded as a possible winner both in singles and in doubles, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In the decisive singles match, Radu Albot was beaten by Britain’s Daniel Smethurst 6-3, 5-7, 0-6.
In doubles, he and Andrei Ciumac were defeated by Belgium’s Germain Gigounon and Yannik Reuter 6-7, 4-6.
In 2011, Radu Albot won five Futures tournaments and thus went up in the world rankings. Now he is the best placed Moldovan tennis player in the ATP rankings – 255th spot. The rankings that were published on February 20 also include Roman Borvanov (265th), Andrei Ciumac (707th), Andrei Gorban (810th), Maxim Dubarenko (1,103th), and Roman Tudoreanu (1,899th).
