The Chisinau City Council on Friday adopted the terms of reference for a tender to introduce electronic ticketing in the municipal transportation system. The tender will be announced by February 1.

A commission, chaired by Deputy Mayor Nistor Grozavu, was also appointed to organize the tender and select the winner. The commission also includes representatives of the Bus Company and the Trolleybus Company, and municipal councilors. Activist Victor Chironda will represent civil society on the commission.

The TOR require the bidders to incorporate staff training and maintenance among other costs into their offers.

Deputy Mayor Ruslan Codreanu estimated the system would be implemented by 1 September 2018.

The TOR will be published on the City Hall’s website.
