Ten teachers arrested for facilitating cheating

Sixteen persons, including ten teachers, were arrested by the Anti-corruption Center on suspicion that they helped students cheat during Baccalaureate exams, Info-Prim Neo reports. It is alleged that the teachers used social networks to transmit solved papers to students during exams, charging each student 2,200 lei for the service. Preliminary investigations showed that at least 21 students were helped to cheat in this way. The suspects will be charged with passive corruption, which is punishable by 5 to 10 years in prison or fines from 20,000 to 60,000 lei, with or without a ban on certain jobs for a period of up to 5 years.
