Ten persons diagnosed with the novel coronavirus died in Moldova on June 1. As many as 259 infected persons are in a serious state and 26 of them were put on a ventilator, IPN reports.
“I want to note that the resumption of economic activities was erroneously interpreted as relaxation. This way, we notice that the population’s previous vigilance as regards the observance of the public health measures in public institutions, shops, stores is no longer the same. Social distancing is not maintained and hand hygiene is not respected. We reiterate and call again on the population: follow the public health recommendations as this will save lives,” said secretary of state at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection Konstantin Rymish, who presented the updated COVID-19 picture on June 1.
Moldova so far has got 8,360 infections with the novel coronavirus. The virus was contracted by 1,630 healthcare workers by now. The death toll now stands at 305.
Forty-one cured persons were discharged from the hospital on June 1. The number of persons who recovered from COVID-19 rose to 4,622.
