Ten more Moldovan business entities that run nurseries were authorized by Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) to export young trees and grapevines to the Russian Federation. The decision was taken as a result of an inspection carried out by experts of Rosselkhoznadzor between June 18 and 24, at the request of the National Food Safety Agency.
Contacted by IPN, the Agency’s director general Gheorghe Gaberi said the export of saplings from Moldova had been blocked by Russia until last year. The ban was lifted after a commission of Rosselkhoznadzor came to Moldova on an inspection and authorized eight companies to export samplings and vines. “A number of 18 nurseries have been authorized to export saplings to Russia during two years. This right can be extended,” stated Gheorghe Gaberi.
The companies were authorized to exporting samplings, vines and decorative trees. These have to find partners in Russia to sign contracts for the production and supply of young trees. “The Russian Federation has a number of programs to develop the sector of multiannual plantations. We can now cooperate with Russia in these sectors,” stated Gheorghe Gaberi.
The experts of “Rosselkhoznadzor” in June examined the nurseries in Briceni, Edinet, Orhei, Straseni and Sangerei.
