Ten Chisinau children quit school

Ten children in Chisinau have become dropouts, including six children in Buiucani district alone. The respective schools sent the children’s dossiers to the territorial councils for the protection of children’s rights, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Municipal Education Division, an eight-grade girl stopped attending her school, Alexandru cel Bun Lyceum, because she was working at the market, as reported by the girl’s grandfather. Two students, ages 14 and 15, who attended separate schools, were arrested by the police on apartment theft charges. It was decided at the meeting of the Council for the protection of children’s rights to place the juveniles in a closed school. The children’s rights council of the suburban town of Vatra is looking to deprive a mother of her parental rights because her seventh-grade daughter has been missing school for two months now. Another student at School no.6 simply refuses to attend classes. The principal requested the Buiucani prosecutorial bodies to place the student in a closed school. In the case of another student from School no.3, efforts are made to transfer him to a sport-focused school. Three other students are with their parents in Ukraine.
