The Chisinau government is planning to set up temporary housing for people in distress, including people who lose their homes in natural disasters. The rules of setting up and managing such temporary accommodation units will be debated in a public consultation on August 15.
Under the proposal, the housing units will be set up by the City Council, will be municipal property, and will be managed by the Housing and Amenities Directorate. Temporary housing units will not be eligible for re-purposing or privatization.
Interested parties are encouraged to submit proposals to the Housing and Amenities Directorate by August 14, COB, and participate in the public consultation to be held in the City Council meeting hall the next day at 4:00 pm.
