The average daily air temperature on Tuesday and Wednesday will drop by 5-10 degrees Celsius. Also, light snowfall is forecast for today, January 9, IPN reports.
According to the State Weather Service, the severe weather was brought by a southern cyclone and a polar air mass that are crossing the country’s territory. Meteorologists downgraded the orange alert to a yellow alert, which will be in effect until January 10.
Also, as a result of the decline in temperatures, ice is expected to appear in small rivers, lakes and on some portions of the Nistru and Prut rivers, on the shore and silts, during January 8-15. On some of the small rivers, ice bridges can form. The ice will be thin and walking on it is dangerous. Winter fishing enthusiasts are warned to be cautious, while parents are urged to supervise their children.
