Temperatures of+13°C expected after -20°C

The weather will grow much warmer next week. After -20°C, daytime temperatures are expected to rise to +13°C, IPN reports. The head of the Forecasts Division of the State Hydrometeorological Service Ghennady Roșca said the temperatures will rise considerably after February 20.

A weather front associated with a cyclone will pass near Moldova in the period. Until February 24, the temperatures will be by 7-8°C higher than the norm for this period of the year. The same front will bring precipitation, in the form of snow initially. It will snow slightly on February 18 and on February 20.

For February 19, the State Hydrometeorological Service forecasts temperatures of -20°C in northern Moldova and of -10 to -15°C in the other parts of the country.

The coldest day of February 17 was in 1967, when -20.5°C were recorded in Chisinau. The warmest day of February 17 was in 2019, when thermometers in Tiraspol sowed +16°C.
