Temperatures of -12°C forecast for next week

Forecasters say the weather will grow much colder, to -12°C at the start of next week. The temperatures are below the norm for this period of the year.

On December 17, nighttime temperatures will oscillate between 0- and +5°C, while on December 22 will drop to -7…-12°C. The normal average temperature in the period is -1…-3°C.

There will be rain and sleet this weekend, but the precipitation will not be heavy.

The coldest day of December 22 in Moldova was in 1946, when thermometers in Briceni showed -20°C. The warmest day of December 22 was recorded in Tiraspol in 2019, when there were +16°C.
