Forecasters said daytime temperatures the next few days will rise to 15°C. Rain is also expected.
Gennady Roșca, head of the Weather Forecasts Division of the State Hydrometeorology Service, has told IPN that cold air masses coming from North Africa and the Mediterranean Sea will be crossing Moldova’s territory.
Daytime temperatures oscillating between 10°C and 15°C will persist until February 19 and will then decline. On February 23, there will be +5°C ..10°C during the day.
“The average temperature during this period of the year should oscillate between 0°C and -2°C. Daytime temperatures should not exceed 4°C, while nighttime temperatures should vary between -6°C and -3°C,” stated Gennady Roșca.
On February 17 and 18, it will rain, while on February 22 there will be sleet.
The warmest day of February 16 was in 2016, when the meteorological stations in Cahul and Tiraspol recorded 16.6°C. The coldest day of February 16 on record was in 2006, when thermometers in Tiraspol showed – 24.5°C.
