The State Hydrometeorological Service has issued a yellow code advisory for a sudden change in weather. During March 17-22, the approaching Mediterranean cyclones will cause difficult meteorological conditions.
Contacted by IPN, forecaster on duty Natalia Sirbu said it will rain on March 18, but on March 19 there will be sleet and snow and the precipitation will total 10-15 l/m2 in 12 hours. There will be snowstorms in parts and a layer of hoarfrost will appear on electric cables and branches.
The northwestern wind will intensify to 15-20 m/s. The temperatures will plunge. The lowest ones will vary between -8 and -13 degrees Celsius, while the highest ones between 0 and -5 degrees Celsius.
After March 23, the weather will stabilize.
