The national broadcasting company Teleradio-Moldova and Gas Natural Fenosa Moldova signed a partnership agreement for the digitalization of the broadcaster's audio library, in particular audio theater records and stories for children, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Teleradio president Constantin Marin stated that this was a very important step in the company's reform process. “The national broadcaster has an invaluable collection of audio and video recordings. Regretfully, these pieces of national heritage are endangered. One day we may lose many of these priceless pieces that have been accumulated for decades. This is why we asked for assistance. Together we will do a great thing – we will preserve this heritage. We will start with a small, yet extremely important step – we will save the stories for children”, declared Constantin Marin at the signing ceremony.
Silvia Radu, the president of Gas Natural Fenosa in Moldova, remarked that the date of the signing ceremony, December 19, opportunely coincided with St. Nicholas Day, the day when gifts are traditionally made to children. “We want to give children across the country the possibility to listen to the golden voices of Moldova. Today when you launched a multimedia department, we want every children or adult to have the opportunity to find on the company's website their favorite fairy tales. We will follow the development of this project and perhaps we will be able to find sources for future contributions as well”, said Silvia Radu.
Under the agreement, Gas Natural Fenosa offered 175,000 lei that will enable the national broadcaster to create two digitizing workshops. Alexandru Dorogan, the director of Radio Moldova, said that efforts would be made to create the workshops as soon as possible and that they would be used to digitize other archive content in the future.
