Teleradio SB members want Rezonans show off the air

Two members of the Teleradio-Moldova Company’s Supervisory Board (SB), Igor Munteanu and Veaceslav Ionita, request that the show Rezonans be excluded from the broadcast schedule of the Moldova 1 channel as the Company’s management strongly opposes the idea. The subject was brought up for discussion on Wednesday, October 17, when the Board was examining Moldova 1’s broadcast schedule valid until the end of this year. Munteanu stated he will give his consent to this schedule only if the respective programme is excluded, because the show gives tongue to “dirty propaganda”, he said. This opinion was shared by Ionita, who considers that the programme doesn’t meet the principles of the channel’s editorial policy. Advocating for the show, TRM president Valentin Todercan and Moldova 1 director Adela Raileanu said Rezonans is probably the most popular programme among the channel’s viewers, as it is produced in partnership with the interstate company MIR. In response to the allegations that Rezonans could get TRM in trouble, Todercan stressed that so far no one has taken the Company or the programme to court. Eventually, the Board approved the schedule with 5 out of 7 votes, leaving the Rezonans issue open for debate at another SB meeting. At the same meeting the Board okayed the broadcast schedule of TV Moldova International for the same period.
