Teleradio Moldova’s budget for 2010 will be 215.2m lei

The president of the national public broadcaster Teleradio Moldova Valentin Todercan submitted the financial plan for 2010 to the Supervisory Board. The company’s budget for next year will be 215.2 million lei. Out of this sum, 200.1 million lei will be allocated from the state budget, while 15.1 million lei will represent the company’s own revenues, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Valentin Todercan, about 90 million lei will be used as capital investments, while over 45 million lei to pay for goods and services, including 30 million lei for the rental of circuits and transmitters. The company’s administration earmarked approximately 46 million lei for paying salaries to the employees, but the Supervisory Board suggested raising the sum to 52.8 million lei. The Board proposed increasing other sums as well. The Board’s chairwoman Mariana Slapac said that the company might not be able to fulfill its contractual obligations to I.S. Radiotelecomunicatii as regards the rental of terrestrial and satellite transmitters. “It can happen that the people will simply not receive the programs of the public broadcaster,” she said. The budget allocations for Teleradio Moldova in 2005 were 44.9 million lei, in 2006 – 25.1 million lei, while in 2007 – 62.1 million lei. The national public broadcaster’s budget for 2009 is 127 million lei, 110,000 million of which allotted from the state budget.
