“Teleradio-Moldova” wants to broadcast December 7 presidential elections live

The Parliament left the national public broadcaster “Teleradio-Moldova” (TRM) to decide whether to broadcast the December 7 special sitting of the Parliament, when the second round of presidential elections will take place. Dumitru Diacov, the president of honor of the Democratic Party, said the TRM president Valentin Todercan was cynical when he refused to invite the presidential candidate Marian Lupu to a program. “Under the Regulations, this right belongs to the public broadcaster. Our sittings are open,” said the Head of Parliament Mihai Ghimpu. But Dumitru Diacov expressed his surprise at the fact that TRM wants to broadcast live namely this sitting after ignoring the Opposition's requests at the previous elections, saying that it does not have money. “I talked with Valentin Todercan before the first round of presidential elections and told him that he represents a public company. I suggested he should invite the candidate for the presidency to a one-hour program, where he could say what he intends to do if he becomes President,” Diacov said. “I am not against broadcasting the December 7 sitting live, but I see no logic in Todercan's cynical behavior.”
