The Ministry of Health intends to launch tele-medical services this year. Head of the Ministry’s e-Transformation Service Alexandru Rosioru has told IPN that the services will include consultations with patients at a distance, creation of a database with pictures of difficult surgeries and others.
The patients will be able to get advice or treatment through the computer, where it is possible. They will go to the local health center, where they will consult with the specialist doctor from the district through a video camera. Currently, almost half of the health centers have modern infrastructure that enables to implement this service.
As regards the database with pictures of difficult surgeries and births, Alexandru Rosioru said the doctors from all over the country will be able to see and analyze these pictures. This will help them deal with similar problems.
The tele-medical services will be implemented gradually, during six years. The investments are projected to total about 70 million lei.
