Two teenage boys from Hâncești district were arrested on suspicion that they committed a number of thefts in their native village Caracui last night. One of them allegedly murdered a co-villager.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, the teens aged 16 and 17 drank alcoholic beverages together and then robbed a local woman. Later, one of them stabbed to death a local man aged 45 and then committed two more thefts. “They were both arrested. Investigation officers and employees of the Hâncești Police Inspectorate are working on the scenes,” stated the police.
Contacted by IPN for details, the mayor of Caracui village Anatol Dubceag said the boy who is suspected of murder is from a respectable family, but he suffered from behavioral disorders. His behavior was often discussed by the interdisciplinary commission, the teachers’ council, the local police. “We made visits to their home and chased him at night through gardens. His parents are decent people. His mother has worked abroad for several years, while his father is a calm man whim I’ve known since he was a child. The boy often caused problems. He behaved rudely towards teachers. A month ago, I talked to him and he told me he found a job at a building site,” related the mayor.
The mayor noted that the boy presumably drank alcoholic beverage and also took drugs together with a boy from the neighborhood. He then broke into the home of a woman with three children and stole several hundred lei. Later, he entered the house of another woman who is confined to bed, while her son was resting after work. The man and the teen probably had a fight and the latter stabbed him to death with a knife. Afterward, the teen committed one more theft in the house of the mayor’s uncle, whom he hit with a knife in the head and then went to the house of an elderly woman whom he hit with an ax.
Anatol Dubceag considers those actions committed during several hours were the results of a smoldering situation. It is very hard to deal with such situations. The local police officer’s powers are limited and his actions can be easily interpreted as abuse of authority in such cases.
