A teenager died and another one was seriously injured following a collision between a cart in which they travelled and a car on the road between Chiștelnița and Scorteni villages last weekend.

Contacted by IPN for details, press officer of the Telenesti Police Inspectorate Elena Baetrău said that a car driven by a 20-year-old man ran from behind into the cart carrying the two minors aged 15. One of the minors died before an ambulance arrived, and the other boy was taken to the Telenesti District Hospital and was admitted to the Surgery Unit.

The driver was tested with a Dräger breathalyzer and this showed that he wasn’t drunk. He is being investigated on the outside. “The police are conducting investigations to establish the exact circumstances of the accident. We call on the drivers to respect the traffic rules and be attentive on the road to avoid such unfortunate cases,” said the press officer.
