The girls aged between 10 and 18 will be vaccinated against cervical cancer free of charge. The about 6,000 vaccines were donated by an U.S. philanthropic organization, Anatol Melnic, of the National Public Health Center, stated for Info-Prim Neo. Besides the free immunization from this donation, the women of all ages can be vaccinated against cervical cancer at private medical centers. A vaccine costs approximately 2,000 lei and is administered in three stages. Globally, cervical cancer is the second most frequent oncological disease among women under 45. About 300 cases of cervical cancer are recorded annually in Moldova.
