The body of a 16-year-old girl was found in a precipice near Mateuti village of Rezina district. She went missing over two weeks ago, IPN reports.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, the girl didn’t have the right arm, while her abdomen was torn apart. Medical examiners are to find out the cause of death.
The police started a criminal case over deliberate murder.
Sources in the Mateuti mayor’s office have told IPN that this is an unordinary case that shocked the residents of the village. The teen was from a poor family. Her father died five years ago, while her mother is disabled. The girl was raised more by her grandparents, who made effort to offer her everything she needed. She studied at a vocational school in Rezina, but had lately missed the classes, invoking health-related reasons.
The place where the body of the girl was found was not far from the house where she lived, on the outskirts of the village. The girl used to leave home without announcing her grandparents.
