A girl aged 16 was beaten cruelly by other girls and images of the beating were posted on the Internet. The police said the incident happened in Biești village of Orhei district on the night of May 28 after the victim and a friend of her met another two teenage girls, IPN reports.

The General Police Inspectorate launched an investigation. All the involved persons were identified. A quarrel arose between the victim and one of the girls and this degenerated into a fight. An 18-year-old boy from Orhei was a witness to the incident, but didn’t intervene. He is to be questioned by the police.

The girls involved in the conflict are aged between 14 and 16 and are questioned in the presence of parents and specialists. The victim was taken to the hospital for examinations. The parents of the other girls had been fined for multiple times for neglect as the girls often left home.

Legal action was taken over aggravated hooliganism that is punished with three to seven years in jail.
