A 15-year-old girl from Chisinau's suburban village of Colonita was kidnapped, assaulted and possibly raped by unidentified persons. Dr. Ludmila Untura of the Chisinau Emergency Service has told Info-Prim Neo that girl's parents called an ambulance to their house, where doctors were told the girl had been pushed into a car and driven away. Apparently the offenders got the victim drunk by pouring alcohol down her throat. The girl is now in hospital care at the Mother & Child center, and the case is being handled by the police. A 45-year-old man suffered sudden death in the yard of his house on Renasterii Blvd. The cause of the death is to be established by coroners. A man and a woman, both aged 29, were struck by a Lada car around midnight in the suburban village of Truseni. The man suffered fractures of the femur and abdominal injuries, while the woman contusion of the right knee. An out-of-town 19-year-old boy was admitted to the Emergency Hospital in critical condition after being struck on Kiev Street by a Renault car. The victim suffered spinal trauma, brain concussion and thoracic contusion. Over the past day and night, the Chisinau Emergency Service responded to 692 calls, including 50 cases of acute viral diseases, 72 cases of trauma and 7 brain strokes.
