A 17-year-old boy from Petrești village of Ungheni district was struck by a train on the railroad between the villages Buciumeni and Petrești in the evening of April 29. He was rushed to the Ungheni District Hospital.
The hospital’s vice director Gennady Şerbu has told IPN that the teen was admitted to the intensive care section. He is conscious, but his state is serious. The boy suffered a closed head injury, skull fractures and a concussion.
Press officer of the General Police Inspectorate Mariana Beţivu said the train was running on the Balti – Ungheni route. Enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
