A boy aged 13 from Braviceni village of Orhei district drowned in the Raut River in an area considered dangerous. The teen went swimming together with his sister who is one year older.

Contacted by IPN, chief on guard at the Orhei Emergencies Department Pantelimon Calugaru said the tragedy happened at about 1pm on June 14. The two weren’t accompanied by adults.

The boy’s sister, concerned that her brother wasn’t coming out of the water, sought help from villagers. But aid was provided too late. The boy was dead when he was taken out.
