A teenage boy aged 16 died after he ran his motorcycle into a car in Recea village of Râșcani district.

Contacted by IPN for details, press officer of the Râșcani Police Inspectorate Ina Banari said the teen came out from a secondary road in Recea. He didn’t make sure it was safe to cross the road and crashed his motorcycle into a car driven by a 44-year-old woman. The impact was fatal for the boy.

An investigation is underway to establish all the circumstances of the accident.

According to the police, at least ten persons died in the over 120 accidents involving motorcyclists that occurred on the national roads in the first half of this year. More than 100 persons suffered injuries. In the period, there were documented about 5,000 violations committed by motorcyclists. Almost 1,000 units of transport were taken to special parking lots.
