A boy aged 13 died when he walked onto an extension cord with the wet footwear in Telenești in the evening of April 2.
Contacted by IPN for details, press officer of the Telenești Police Inspectorate Elena Băetrău said the police were notified at about 9:20pm by the boy’s mother. She said that her son got electrocuted and was unconscious.
When on the spot, the police established that the woman, together with her son, went to visit her mother who lives not far from their house. The teen decided to return home earlier. When he entered the summer kitchen, out of inattention he stepped onto the extension cord that was plugged in with his wet footwear. The cord was insulated with paper adhesive. The boy was electrocuted.
The ambulance doctors attempted to resuscitate him, but failed. The death was stated at 22:30.
A criminal case was started over this incident.
