A 17-year-old boy from the village of Calinesti in Floresti district has been arrested for fatally beating his 77-year-old aunt. Earlier, the aggressor was sentenced to 2 years in jail, but was released on parole, Info-Prim Neo learned from the Interior Ministry. According to the Ministry, the incident occurred on Saturday, March 22, when the teenager was paying a visit to his elderly aunt, who was also visited by her sister. The women started lecturing the boy about his bad behavior, and when the argument turned sour, he became violent and attacked one of the women, hitting her in the head and the chest. As a result of the suffered injuries, the elderly woman died. The case is investigated by the Falesti district police. If found guilty, the juvenile could spend the next 10 to 15 years of his life behind bars. According to Interior Ministry statistics, the number of offences committed this year by juvenile delinquents has risen to 177, including two murders.
