A 53-year-old man and his son aged 15 were struck by lightning and killed in Ulmu village of Râbnița district, IPN reports.
According to the de facto ministry of home affairs of the Transnistrian region, the bodies of the two were found under trees near a lake by a workmate.
The quoted source said the two were pasturing a herd of cows together with two more cowhands. When a flash of lightening occurred, the cows dispersed and the herdsmen tried to bring them together. One of the cowmen found the two dead, with burns on the bodies.
The population is warned to take into account the weather conditions. When the weather is unfavorable, it is not recommended staying out. When there are storms with thunder and lightning and the person is in the field, shelter should be found, but further from trees.
