Teen and grandmother hurt in Chisinau fire
A teenager and his grandmother suffered from an extended fire on Thursday, December 13, in a Chisinau residence building.
The doctor-coordinator at the Chisinau Emergency Service, Eufalia Negreata, told Info-Prim Neo that the fire reached several flats in the block of flats no 2 on Bogdan Voievod Street. A 14-year-old boy, who was scared by the extending fire, broke a window with his hand. The boy suffered from several wounds and got assistance from the ambulance doctors. His grandmother was hospitalised at the “Sfanta Treime” hospital with carbon monoxide intoxication.
A 66-year-old woman under the influence of alcohol was admitted to the Burn Centre, after suffering second-degree burns in a fire in a residence on Serghei Lazo Street.
Over the last day and night, the Chisinau Emergency Service registered 660 calls, including 72 cases of trauma, six brain strokes and 14 coronary seizures, including one heart attack.
