Technologies and innovations for developing country to be promoted at Moldova ICT Summit 2016

More than 1,000 people are expected to come to the seventh Moldova ICT Summit that will take place on April 27-28. The organizers told a news conference that this year’s event will promote technologies and innovations in support of the country’s development, IPN reports.

Deputy ICT Minister Vitalie Tarlev said this summit became historical already. The previous years the authorities and organizers were looking for participants and partners, but this year the interested companies and persons phoned the organizers themselves to find out details about the event. Moldova ICT Summit will center on such subjects as the development of ICT entrepreneurship and educational processes for training specialists in information technology etc. During practically a day, there will be staged the Internet Day to discuss access to the Internet.

Ana Chirita, executive director of the Association of ICT Companies, said this event is designed to promote the industry of information technology that represents 8-9% of the country’s GDP, being an important component that can help Moldova turn from an agrarian country into a country of information technology.

Ionela Titirez, manager of the USAID IT Industry project, said that before Moldova ICT Summit, they will hold a meeting with international experts who will work out a strategy how Moldova can become a developed state by using the information technology. The strategy will be presented in the event.

Moldova ICT Summit is open to anyone. Within it, the visitors can test new gadgets and applications.
