Technical testing stations must have video surveillance

Twenty centers for the technical testing of cars that do not have video surveillance have been forced to suspend their activity. According to the new regulation from the Ministry of Transports and Road Infrastructure, since June 26 stations of technical testing can work only if connected to the common network of video surveillance, Info-Prim Neo reports. Minister of Transports Anatol Salaru told the press that the 20 stations would be accredited only after they connected to the common network. “By doing this, we try to reduce the number of cars that fail to undergo technical testing. We’ll use our financial means, which will surely grow, to mend more of the problems we face”, said Salaru. Several State institutions will have access to the centralized network of video surveillance of the vehicles’ technical inspection. The system will be used to provide evidence for the Main State Fiscal Inspectorate when applying fines to drivers who falsify technical reports. It will also facilitate the work of traffic officers. There are 67 technical testing stations and 47 of them have video surveillance.
