The Governments’ decision on the creation of the Technical Surveillance Agency that will ensure state control in the fields of safety of dangerous industrial products, building and urbanism was published in the Official Gazette on November 3.
Under the decision, the Technical Surveillance Agency will supervise the anti-fire safety and civil protection measures. The Agency’s inspectors will monitor how the anti-fire rules are respected and will present the collected information to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, which could later use it to deal with fires.
The Technical Surveillance Agency will take over the 2017 budgets and duties of the Agency for Geology and Mineral Resources, the State Main Inspectorate for the Technical Supervision of Dangerous Industrial Facilities, the State Building Inspectorate, the State Inspectorate for Geodesic, Technical and Regime Surveillance and of the State Inspectorate for Technical Surveillance “Intehagro”.
The responsibility for implementing the decision is borne by the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment.
