The Chisinau General Division of Education, Youth and Sport awarded the winners of the municipal contest “Teacher of the Year 2016”. According to the organizers, all the contenders were well prepared and deserved to be awarded, IPN reports.

The top prize in the category “Educator of the Year” was won by Cristina Aparatu of the Municipal Nursery School No 143. The title of “Teacher of the Year” was conferred on Viorica Morcov of the Theoretical Lyceum ”George Calinescu”. This year, the top prize in the category “Professor of the Year” was divided by two teachers who had the same score - Eugenia Gutu of the Lyceum “Svetoci” and Valentina Boboc of the Lyceum “Natalia Dadiani”.

The Division’s head Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said the contest lays emphasis on such qualities as professionalism and ingeniousness. “This year we had worthy opponents and the struggle was stiff because most of them were good. The institutions selected indeed exceptional teachers,” she stated.

The prize for the first place was 10,000 lei. The winners also received diplomas, cups and ribbons with the words “Teacher of the Year 2016”. The holders of the second position got 5,000 lei, while of the third position – 3,000 lei. The other participants in the contest received by 1,000 lei.
