The Professional Day of Education System Employees was celebrated on October 3 at a ceremony that was organized by the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport at the National Theater “Mihai Eminescu”, IPN reports.

In the opening of the event, the Division’s head Rodica Guțu said being a teacher is a vocation and today’s holiday reminds her of the nice moments she spent together with students. She called on the teachers to combine efforts and offer the children knowledge and also teach them how to be happy.

Secretary of state at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research Angela Kutasevich said the teachers are those who, with devotion and commitment, are in the service of the young generation, the citizens of tomorrow. “We appreciate the work you do daily. It is hard to find words of praise for those who devote themselves to teaching. We kneel before you for your effort, devotion and dedication,” she stated.

The head of the Education and Science Trade Unions Federation Gennady Donos said few words can express  full gratitude for what teachers do to change the young generation and the future of this country to the better.

In the ceremony, the Division of Education, Youth and Sport offered money awards to teachers with special accomplishments in teaching work. A number of young teachers who started to work for municipal education institutions received the teacher’s guide as a present.
