Teacher suspected of taking 1,500 lei bribe at exam
A lecturer of the College of Medicine in Balti is suspected of taking 1,500 lei bribe from a student for helping her get a good grade in the state exam, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Ministry of the Interior.
Police say the 1,500 lei marked with ink and iridescent powder was found in a bucket full with flowers. Five persons have so far complained that the teacher asked sums ranging from 500 lei to $300 from students for allowing them to take the state exam, the Ministry says on its website.
If proven guilty, the lecturer would serve up to seven years behind bars.
