Offices of the National Anticorruption Center and anticorruption prosecutors arrested a college teacher from Hancesti town for asking money from a student, IPN reports.
While investigating the case, it was established that the teacher asked and received 3,500 lei from the student for helping him obtain the highest grade on his bachelor’s thesis. The money was transmitted under the supervision of officers of the National Anticorruption Center. The teacher was caught red-handed when the second installment was being passed on.
After concluding a blame acceptance agreement, the teacher was released by prosecutors. He faces up to seven years in jail and ban on holding particular public posts or performing particular activities for a period of five to ten years.
