A teacher of the Stomatology Department of the Balti College of Medicine was arrested on suspicion that he systematically asked and received money from students, IPN reports.

According to the National Anticorruption Center, the case became known when a video showing the teacher asking money from students was published on the Internet. The teacher regularly asked and received by 100 lei from students for giving them high grades in tests.

The teacher was placed under arrest for 72 hours. If he is found guilty, he will serve three to seven years in jail. He also faces a fine of 200,000 to 300,000 lei and ban on holding particular public posts or performing particular activities for five to ten years.
