The teacher of “Nicolae Testemitanu” University, who is accused of instigating the recruitment of children for sexual exploitation, was brought to trial. In a news conference on October 8, Prosecutor Dorin Compan said that during the investigations it was established that the accused contacted a former employee of the Migration and Asylum Bureau of the Ministry of the Interior, who recruited children for sexual exploitation, and asked him to provide him with children for having sex with them. The prosecutors and police officers identified three minors aged 14-15 from socially deprived families who had been involved in the illegalities of the two. Dorin Compan said that the criminal case against the former employee of the Migration and Asylum Bureau has been sent to court for examination. Several persons, including a citizen of Syrian, were accused of trafficking in children for sexual exploitation in this case. The teacher of “Nicolae Testemitanu” University was arrested in August. He faces up to 20 years in jail or life imprisonment.
