Tbilisi-Chisinau plane redirected to Iasi, lands in Chisinau with three-hour delay

The fog upset the plans of the passengers of the Tbilisi-Chisinau flight, operated by FlyOne company. The plane arrived in the Republic of Moldova with a delay of almost three hours, after landing first in Iasi, Romania. The company's marketing manager Cristina Danila told IPN that the plane was redirected for a period of time to Iasi due to the unfavorable weather conditions.

In Chisinau, the plane was supposed to land at 07:50 a.m., but arrived only at 10:57 a.m.

"For reasons of security and safety of the passengers, the plane had to land in Iasi and stayed there for about 2 hours. Once the weather conditions improved and we received the approval to land at the Chisinau Airport, it reached its destination," said the company's representative.

The Warsaw-Chisinau flight, operated by Wizz Air, also landed with delay in Chisinau. The passengers who took off from the Polish capital arrived at the destination at 11:07 a.m., one hour and twenty minutes later than the scheduled time.

The Chisinau International Airport warned about possible deviations from the flight schedule due to foggy conditions and reduced visibility. The decision to operate flights in foggy conditions is at the discretion of airlines. Passengers are urged to check the flight status in real time on the online board of the Chisinau International Airport.
