As many as 882,000 private individuals last year earned official incomes from salaries of 23.3 billion lei. The deducted income taxes totaled 1.66 billion lei. 393,000 people obtained together slightly over 1 billion lei from other sources. They paid incomes taxes of 40.9 million lei. The data were provided by the State Tax Service in a news conference, Info-Prim Neo reports. A number of 206,000 income statements were submitted to the subdivisions of the State Tax Service by April 4, up over 6,000 compared with the corresponding period last year. “The taxpayers became more responsible as they realize that we must contribute to the formation of the country’s budget and pay the taxes on time,” said the head of the State Main Tax Inspectorate Nicolae Platon. According to him, an important role was played by the electronic fiscal reporting services. The number of income statements processed through such services increased 19 times on a year before. 18,900 taxpayers, 1,800 of whom private individuals, used these services. The number of statements filed through the Fast-Track Tax Returns service rose by 31.6% to 15,000.
