Tax amnesty will not have expected result, MPs

The tax amnesty proposed by MPs of the Democratic Party will not produce results in the economy and will enable to legalize the capital accumulated illegally by a narrow group of persons. The issue was developed by Liberal-Democratic MP Vadim Pistrinciuc and Socialist MP Vladimir Turcan in the talk show “In Depth” on PRO TV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.

According to Vadim Pistrinciuc, the bill is intended for several people so that they could legalize their capital. The tax amnesty proposed by the Democrats will not have an effect on the economy and will disfavor the honest people who paid taxes in time.

Vladimir Turcan also considers the tax amnesty will not have the expected result in the economy. “We tried such an amnesty in 2007 and the effect was null. At least in 2007 there were clear provisions. A condition for legalizing the money could be to invest in the economy and create new jobs,” he stated.

The Democratic and Liberal MPs invited to the program refused to come, as the organizers announced.
