Secretary of state at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection Tatiana Zatyk said the epidemiological situation in the country is worrisome. According to the updated data, the past week alone, the number of deaths due to COVOD-19 rose by over 30%, the Republic of Moldova ranking third in the world by the number of reported deaths. The situation was discussed in the meeting of the Consultative Public Health Council working under the Prime Minister in the evening of March 16, IPN reports.
Yesterday evening, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection reported 33 new deaths from COVID-19 - 19 women and 14 men. The youngest victim is a man aged 48 from Chisinau. The confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Moldova now total 207,012. Of the 4,411 infected patients who are in national hospitals, 335 are in a very serious state.
As many as 16,131 persons have been vaccinated in Moldova so far. There were reported 326 minor side effects and eight moderate reactions after vaccination.
