Employees of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Defense will supervise the observance of the restrictions imposed by the Commission for Exceptional Situations. According to secretary of state at the Ministry of Health Tatiana Zatyk, if all the imposed bans are obeyed, the large number of infections could be reduced in several weeks and the huge pressure exerted now on the health system would be diminished, IPN reports.
According to the Commission for Exceptional Situations’ decision, if a business entity, regardless of the type of ownership and organizational form, violates the sanitary rules or public health measures and its further activity endangers public health, it will be closed for the whole period of the state of emergency. Furthermore, large-scale events and ceremonies were banned. In the municipalities of Bălți and Chisinau, the persons cannot leave homes between 11pm and 5am as from April 3.
“A number of tools are offered for involving employees of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Defense. The army will provide assistance to the police force, will monitor and supervise the observance of the protection measures. These bans will prevent situations when persons stay longer in recreational areas and crowdedness will be this way avoided,” Tatiana Zatyk stated in the talk show “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1.
Moreover, according to the authorities’ decision, only up to 30% of the personnel will be involved in office work at the workplace and employers will organize work in shifts.
“This will contribute to reducing the flow of persons in public transport, will diminish crowdedness and will reduce contacts between persons. The police officers will be very visible and will be present in all the places with crowdedness potential. Additional powers were offered to the employees of the National Public Health Agency. We hope that this way we will reduce the number of infections and the burden on health facilities,” stated the official.
The state of emergency at national level was declared for the period between April 1 and May 30. The education process in the localities under red alert will be conducted online, while kindergartens remain open.
