Swimmer Tatiana Salcuțan will compete in the final of the Youth Olympic Games in 100 m breaststroke. In the semifinals, the athlete from Tiraspol achieved the result of 1:02.04, IPN reports.
Eight female swimmers reached the final of the competition held in Buenos Aires. Salcuțan qualified with the best sixth time. In the 50 m butterfly, Anastasia Moshchenskaya failed to qualify for the semifinals.
In badminton, Vlada Gînga beat Slovenia’s Petra Polanc 2-1, while Cristian Savin lost to Dmitriy Panarin of Kazakhstan 1-2.
In judo, Paulina Țurcan suffered two defeats in the 44 kg weight class. She was defeated by Ukraine’s Anastasia Balaban and Romania’s Giorgia Hagianu.
