The tariffs of medical-sanitary services will be reviewed by the Government. A draft decision to this effect was adopted by Parliament on April 6, IPN reports.
Within 30 days of the adoption of this decision, the Government will make amendments to the methodology for calculating the tariffs of medical-sanitary services provided for money.
The decision was drafted by a group of MPs of the Communist Party. Oxana Domenti said there are preconditions for the tariffs to be reduced. The informative note to the decision says the review is necessary given the limited range of medical services included in the common mandatory health insurance program and other factors that make the population use medical services for money.
The tariffs of medical-sanitary services were increased in February based on a Government decision, in some cases ten times. The Ministry of Health said then the move was aimed at increasing the quality of medical services and efficiency of treatment by technologically modernizing hospitals. On the other hand, a report by the National Anticorruption Center shows some types of medical services were increased excessively and unreasonably.
