The cost of cytopathologic examination of cervical-vaginal smear, including in cervical-vaginal screening, was halved from 125 lei to 62 lei, the National Health Insurance Company has said. This was possible owing to the implementation of the automated laboratory testing method and the use of modern testing equipment, IPN reports.

The amendments approved recently by the Government to the annex to the Decision concerning medical-sanitary services were published in the Official Gazette.

The price of a hemodialysis session was cut from 2,395 to 1,995 lei, while of a hemodiafiltration session – from 2,645 to 2,195 lei.

The services are provided by the health facilities that are covered by the mandatory health instance system and are financed with the relevant funds.
