From July 1, the doctors will receive tariff salaries by 21% higher, following a decision approved by the Government. The tariff salary for doctors with the first qualification category will rise from 825 to 1,000 lei, IPN reports.

The tariff salary for directors of public hospitals will be increased by 150 lei, to 900 lei. Under the same decision, the awards and bonuses to the salary will not be set by the Ministry of Health, but by the administration of the medical institution.

The last time the Government increased the tariff salary of employees from the health sector in 2012. The pays were then raised from 750 to 825 lei.

As many as 47,500 people work in Moldova’s health sector.
