Tariff rises asked by power distribution networks may be accepted, ANRE
The tariff rises demanded by the power distribution networks may be fully accepted, the director general of the National Energy Regulatory Agency Victor Parlicov said after the first round of public consultations, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Gas Natural Fenosa asked increasing the charge by 8.1% to 1.55 lei per kWh, RED Nord – by 7.2% to 1.65 lei kWh, while RED Nord-Vest – by 7.8% to 1.66 lei kWh. The state-run company Moldelectrica demanded raising the power transportation tariff by over 58% to 10.72 bani per kWh.
”Those who attended the public consultations had questions as regards these demands. The ANRE asked updating the data and presenting the calculations that determine and explain the rises in tariffs,” said Victor Parlicov.
Nicolae Mogoreanu, the chairman of the Association of Energy Consumers, said that the request of IS “Moldelectrica” is exaggerated and is beyond the economic logic. “It seems as if the company worked at a loss for many years in a row and made no profit,” he stated.
The next round of public consultations will take place on April 27.
The tariff rises were asked following the increase in the import price of electricity supplied by Ukraine and the Cuchurgan Power Plant by 13.2% from April 1, 2012.
