Tantareni villagers having prevented trucks to carry garbage from Chisinau to a dump near their locality for week will put up a list of claims on Saturday. They reached this agreement Friday with Chisinau mayor Dorin Chirtoaca, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the PR direction of the Chisinau City Hall, the access of the trucks was unblocked Thursday, after Dorin Chirtoaca promised the protesters to deal personally with their claims. The protesters complain about the garbage polluting their village. They demand the dump to be closed or to take enhanced environment-protection measures. They claim free medical insurance policies and an aqueduct. Earlier this week, Dorin Chirtoaca said the Tantareni dump problem is the result of the Chisinau city hall not supporting the village from 1991 to 2007. He committed to carry out a number of projects as an water supply duct and an ecologic research. The dump is to work till December 31, 2010. Municipal officials say a garbage processing plant may solve the issue.
